So You Think You Can Perform 2009

Fundraising Gala 2009 will be a night of fine dining with your friends at the Floata Seafood Restaurant as well as an evening of incredible performances. This is an open contest for anyone who think they can perform and entertain! Besides different styles of dancing, we expect to see singing, magic, musical instructments and more. Come join us either as an audience or as a contestant!

Date and Time

    Date: Friday, October 16th, 2009
    Venue: Floata Seafood Restaurant at 400-180 Keefer Street, Vancouver
    Dinner & Competition: 7:00 - 11:30pm
    Dinner Ticket: $50 / $100 - VIP

Contest rules

To be a contestant, you must agree to the following rules:

  • The performance is open to all types of performances and therefore goes beyond dancing.
  • Deadline for registration is October 8, 2009
  • CPASOC reserves the right to limit the number of entries based on time available and other logistics. Please register early to reserve your spot.
  • The program length is limited to no longer than 5 minutes
  • Every contestant needs to obtain a pledge form and raise minimum of $25 to be qualified for the competition.
  • Every contestant is required to purchase a ticket for the evening unless total pledged fund of over $100 is achieved.
  • Contestants will submit their pledge forms and fund at the “SO U THINK U CAN PERFORM?” fundraising event on Friday, October 16th, 2009.

Prizes

The following prizes are what we are commited to currently. More prizes may be available with your support.

  • The Best performance (by judges) : First place $300
  • The most popular performance: A trophy for the winner as voted by audiences at the night of performance/fund raising.
  • The highest fund pledged: The contestant who raised the most pledged fund.
